• Types of software: Many types of software made by many companies
  
• It is hard to put in one word, “Computer Software”
  
• Thesis Statement: Computer Software can be classified on the basis of the purpose of use.

Typing: Word Processing – Microsoft words, Icitaro –

• Microsoft words: first sold in May 1983 as Multi-Tool word, used to have difficulties when writing vertically
  
• Icitaro: one of the word processing software used in Japan, used in their word processing machines
  

Doing calculation: Spreadsheet – Excel –

• Excel: Japanese version have problems with dates.
  example) type 01.09.18 – after Excel 2000, it will be September 18, 2001. However, before Excel 98, it will be memorized as September 18, 1989 because that date is September 18 of the first year of Heisei. (Wikipedia, Japanese)
